Grinding the brake cylinder mounting ears

Grinding the brake cylinder mounting ears

Grinding the brake cylinder mounting ears (shiny part) down on the rudder/brake pedal assembly, so the cylinder can get low enough to reach the holes and bolt on in between the ears.

Brake cylinder reaches

Another shot of the brake cylinder, now reaching down into the mounting ears on the rudder/brake pedal assembly after a little grinding. Re-painting is next, of course.

Laying out the elevator tube hole position

Laying out the elevator tube hole position

Layout to cut the elevator tube hole

Layout to cut the elevator tube hole

Another shot of the pre-drilling layout work. The + mark at "H" marks the proposed first 1/2" hole location. I looked at where the elevator control horn inside the fuse was located, then from outside looked along the elevator horn toward th

Roughed out elevator tube hole

Right push-pull tube hole done

Right push-pull tube hole done

It took another three hours, but the first elevator push-pull tube hole is finally done. Kinda weird light here. It's really quite trim and the fuse is still inline & smooth. The left one should go faster.
